Solidarity Funds

Mutual Aid Tompkins is committed to monthly solidarity donations, meaning that we distribute the majority of what we raise in a month to local groups and organizations led by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous People of Color). Other donations go to the maintenance of the food sharing cabinets and minor administrative costs.

By supporting local BIPOC organizations, and in particular those working with members of our community who have been most impacted by COVID-19, our goal is to build lasting relationships with people rather than one-time charity funds. We re-distribute up to $500 per month per BIPOC-led group/organization that is actively supporting those bearing the brunt of the crises of capitalism and the pandemic.

If you’d like to request solidarity funds, please fill out this short form or send us an email at matsolidarityfunds@gmail.com. Requests will be met on a first come first served basis, and will roll over to the next month once we’ve exceeded funds. We’re looking forward to connecting with you!
